Just a quick note to let you know that our 2009 Proprietor’s Rose is being officially released on July 9th. As in the past, this is a dry, clean, crisp rose with lots of berry and cherry flavors. It has always been a hit and has sold out fast, and we think this one will be the best yet. It a great summer wine…perfect for the deck, grilling and picnics. Please stop by try a sample of this refreshing rose. We look forward to your visit. Details on The Great PA Wine Toast Who among us hasn't dreamed of being part of a world record? Well, now's your chance! On Saturday, August 14, Briar Valley Winery will be taking part in The Great Pennsylvania Wine Toast, and we'd like you to join us. Under the watchful eye of the folks at the Guinness Book of World Records, Briar Valley and more than 50 other wineries across the state will open their doors for this chance to enter the record books for the largest wine tasting ever conducted. The event's toastmaster, whose toast will be broadcast simultaneously to all participating locations, is racing legend Mario Andretti – a man who knows a lot about wine, Pennsylvania, and setting world records. Our event will begin at 2:00 pm and the world record toast will take place precisely at 4:00 p.m. The festivities will include music by the “Oh So Duo” along with great food, wine specials never offered before, activities for the kids. The cost is $6.00 per adult. Not bad for a chance to be a part of wine history! We will also be auctioning off a bottle of wine autographed by Mario Andretti at 3:30. A portion of the admission fee along with the proceeds of the autographed bottle of wine will go to the charity of Mario Andretti’s choice which is “The Fund to Benefit Children & Youth”.
